Pingball — Privacy Policy
Pingball collects the following categories of data: identifiers, usage. Perfect Ship LLC uses this data only to operate the app.
Pingball has real accounts, and what you do in it is kept in a hosted database run by our backend provider, Supabase — not only on your device. You can play the whole game without an account, as a guest: guest runs are never submitted to that database, and your settings, your local scores and a guest label are held only in your browser's own storage. (Opening a leaderboard screen still contacts the server to read the public rankings, as loading any web page does, so it sees your IP address — but it is a read, and it carries nothing about you.) Everything below applies once you sign up.
Signing up stores an email address and a password, held by the authentication service in the same hosted project. The password is stored hashed, not as text we or anyone else can read. Your account is identified thereafter by a generated account ID.
Your player profile stores: the username you choose (2 to 20 characters, and unique across all players); a country, which you pick yourself from a drop-down list that includes "Prefer not to say" — it is never derived from your IP address, your device, or any location sensor, and the app has no geolocation of any kind; your best score; your lifetime total bounces; and the date the profile was created.
Every run you submit stores one row: your account ID, the game mode played (classic, rhythm, tricks, multi-ball or no-ball), the score, your longest combo, the number of bounces, how long the run lasted in milliseconds, the identifier of the daily challenge if it was one, the date and time, and a small block of run detail — the tricks you landed, your best bounce rate, and the number of balls the game inferred you were juggling. If you follow another player, a row storing your account ID and theirs is kept so your friends leaderboard can be built. No motion-sensor readings, accelerometer traces, or raw sensor data are ever uploaded — those are used on your device to detect bounces and are discarded.
Some of this is deliberately public, because a leaderboard is the point. Any visitor, signed in or not, can see the ranked leaderboard rows: username, country, score, mode, longest combo, bounce count, and when the run happened. Player profiles — username, country and best score — are readable by anyone. Choose a username accordingly; it does not have to be your real name. Your email address is never shown on the leaderboard or to other players, and the full detail of individual runs is readable only by you.
Perfect Ship LLC does not sell this data, does not use it for advertising, and runs no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or third-party tracking in the app.
To delete your account, email support@theperfectship.com from the address on the account, or use the account deletion page linked from this app's support page. Deleting the account removes the profile, every score row, and every follow relationship along with it — those records are tied to the account and go when it goes. Guest data is cleared by clearing your browser's site data.
Pingball supports user accounts. You may request deletion of your account and its associated data at any time — see the account deletion page linked from this app's support page.
